Love The Lord Your God

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

Everyday pray for the Lord to renew your body, to renew your strength,  and to renew your mood. The more often you pray over not just your day but over YOU, this is when the transformation takes place. Be diligent at praying over yourself. Be constant in seeking His guidance and power over your heart and mind. You have heard that you are in control of how you react to the things that happen in your day. Well, where do you think that control comes from? It comes through Deuteronomy 6:5, that’s where.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie then as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” Deuteronomy 6:6-8

Everyday has challenges but the more we can pull from scripture and orient our minds and hearts to His word the easier it becomes to see past the obstacles of our day and see the blessings of our day.

”Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:9

It is not the house that carries the name of the Lord, it is what is inside the house.  It is the fellowship around the table, the teaching and study of His word, the bedtime prayers with the kids, and the prayer between husband and wife that carry the name of the Lord.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

As Gretchib Rubin said, “The days are long but the years are short.” Some days can be very long but our time here on earth is actually quite short…so let’s make it count! Make it count by leading a life that is oriented to Jesus and one that truly loves God!
